UPDATED: Sept. 12, 2017 at 9:46 p.m.

“The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah will take the stage at the Landmark Theatre in December. His stand-up show will be on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and tickets for the show — ranging from $39.50 to $85 — go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Here are three things to know before his December performance.

He was a soap opera star

When Noah was 18, he appeared in the South African soap opera “Isidingo.” The show, similar to the United States’ “The Young and the Restless,” marked the beginning of his career that led him to Comedy Central’s late night talk and news satire show.

He speaks seven languages

Noah was born in Johannesburg, South Africa during apartheid. Growing up with a Xhosa mother and a Swiss father, he learned seven languages — English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa, Tswana, Tsonga and German.

He was on the cover of a GQ issue

For the October 2014 issue of GQ South Africa, Noah was pictured smiling in a vibrant red suit holding a fire extinguisher.
